DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

Information on development, construction, and what’s to come for Harris Ranch.

Harris Ranch continues to be one of the most highly sought neighborhoods in Boise, and there is no mistaking why. Residents of Harris Ranch know that this is not a typical subdivision. With its parks, paved walking paths, green space and smartly designed roads, Harris Ranch provides a haven for its residents.

Town Square and Village Green

With the CID lawsuit behind us, the developers of the Harris Ranch Town Center and Village Green finally began work, and we’re sure you have noticed the initial groundwork currently underway. Behind the scenes, the team is completing parcel maps and related documentation while talking with potential businesses and builders for the retail, residential, and commercial spaces. Early possibilities include a specialty market, a hotel, townhomes, and mixed-use spaces. Milestone dates are coming soon, and the team plans to share more details with the Barber Valley Neighborhood Association in May.

Residents may have heard about an update to SP-01 related to the Harris Ranch Town Center that is moving through the approval process. The update reduces the commercial space in the Town Center significantly, but the entire 517,000-square-foot reduction in commercial space is office space, driven by a lack of market demand, and it will be replaced by 309 multifamily units. The planned square footage for retail, including restaurants, cafes, and shops, will not be reduced. The net result is a major benefit for residents as far less daily traffic is expected with the multifamily units as opposed to the office space.

Murray Ponds

A landscaping overhaul is planned for Murray Ponds, the storm water ponds south of Warm Springs Ave. At the heart of the project is a concession stand designed to serve both residents and the many cyclists, runners, and walkers enjoying the Boise Greenbelt, adding a quick, convenient dining option right along the trails. When complete, Murray Ponds will be a welcoming local gathering spot that supports neighborhood events and adds energy to an already high-foot-traffic area.

You likely noticed that this project kicked off with the removal of the fencing around the ponds. Work to build the infrastructure upgrades will continue through the winter and the project is expected to be complete in summer 2027.

Alta Harris Park

With Phase 1 of construction completed and final designs in hand, the City of Boise recently broke ground on Phase 2 of Alta Harris Park. Phase 2 will transform the site into a vibrant community destination complete with soccer fields, a “natural” playground, bocce ball courts, group shelters, and lush landscaping, all connected by an extended Greenbelt with walking paths that will bring the whole community together.

This phase of the park’s construction is expected to be complete in mid 2027.

Eckert Bridge

Construction is underway on ACHD’s Eckert Road project, and the bridge is now closed. Harris Ranch residents heading to Barber Park or south of the Boise River should plan alternate routes until the project wraps up in fall 2028. The work includes new bridges over the Boise River and Ridenbaugh Canal, a multi-use pathway between the Greenbelt and Boise Avenue, and a Greenbelt tunnel under Eckert Road connecting to the Dallas Harris Legacy Walkway.
